David Lombard
David Lombard studied Anglophone (especially US) and Hispanic cultures and literatures at the University of Liège, Belgium, and received his master’s degree in 2016. He also studied an additional year (2016-2017) to get a master in foreign language teaching and has been teaching English since 2017 at the University of Liège. As a PhD student in languages, literatures and translation studies, his research interests are the relationship between US literature and environment, environmental philosophies (such as American Transcendentalism), ecocriticism, and aesthetic theories of the sublime. He is currently developing and carrying out a research project entitled “The Toxic Sublime in US Literature: Self, Senses and Environment” under the supervision of Professors Michel Delville (University of Liège, Belgium), VéroniqueBragard (University of Louvain, Belgium) and H. Lewis Ulman (Ohio State University, USA).
