Alina Bottez, MA. University of Bucharest (English and French) and the National University of Music in Bucharest (Singing). Summa cum laude distinction for an interdisciplinary PhD on Shakespeare’s adaptations into opera. Music performer. International conferences and numerous articles published in The Many Facets of Adaptation, East/West Cultural Passage, Shakespeare, Translation and the European Dimension, The Proceedings of the George Enescu International Musicology Symposium, or Transatlantic Connections. She is co-author of „Postcolonialism/Postcommunism: A Dictionary of Key Cultural Concepts”. In 2016 she gave lectures on Shakespeare and opera at Koç University (Istanbul) and presented papers on related topics at conferences held at Mansfield College (Oxford) and University of London. Forthcoming article “Shakespeare’s Britishness Globalised on the Opera Stage” (London Literary Journal) and book – „A Confluence between Masterpieces​: Operas ​Inspired by​ Shakespeare’s Plays” (Editura Muzicală).
