Antonio Paoliello-Palermo

Antonio Paoliello-Palermo is an Assistant Professor of Chinese Studies at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, where he earned both an MRes in Contemporary East Asian Studies and a PhD in Translation and Intercultural Studies. He has taught Classical Chinese, Chinese Translation, and East Asian Literatures at universities in Spain, Scotland, and Italy. He has also been a visiting scholar at Southern University College in Malaysia, the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and the Center for Chinese Studies at the National Central Library in Taiwan. His research focuses on Sinophone literature and culture from Taiwan and Southeast Asia, particularly Malaysia and Singapore, and his work has appeared in international peer-reviewed journals such as CLCWeb and the Canadian Review of Comparative Literature. Antonio is also a published literary translator of Chinese-language fiction and graphic narratives from China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Taiwan into Italian.
