Gitanjali Singh
Gitanjali Singh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of French Studies, at Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. She teaches French (20th century) and Francophone literature. Her research interests are French and Francophone literature and the teaching of French as a Foreign Language (FLE). She has also been a member of the AHIOI group (Association Historique Internationale de l'Océan Indien, La Réunion, France) since 2017. She has published articles on the themes of ecocriticism in literature, the rewriting of Indian myths, life writing and Francophone Literature. In 2021, she received the award for “Outstanding French Teacher” for University Teachers (North Zone) by the French Institute in India (Embassy of France, New Delhi, Inida). Currently, she is working on a project (IOE) to translate Quebec tales from French to Hindi in collaboration with the Cégep de Chicoutimi, Quebec. She was also a Guest Lecturer at Cégep de Chicoutimi, Québec, Canada (2022-2023).
