Noemi Fregara

Noemi Fregara is now attending a Ph.D. in Polish and English Literature at the University of Rome Tor Vergata with a thesis about a comparative analysis between the novels Drive your Plow over the Bones of the Dead (2009) by Olga Tokarczuk and Under the Skin (2000) by Michel Faber, examined from ecocritical, ecofeminist, and Monster Studies perspectives. She has participated in different conferences talking about the works of Olga Tokarczuk, like the Conference of Graduate Students in Katowice with a paper about transformations between species, and the “Taboo Conference” held in Rome with a paper about hybrid identities. The last conferences took place in March 2022: she participated in the “Diversifying Slavic: New Approaches to the Field” Conference organized by Harvard University with a paper about female monsters and in the “Women and their Bodies” conference in Paderborn where she talked about the transgression of the female body.
