Doru Pop

Doru Pop is a professor of film studies, media studies and image analysis at the Faculty of Theatre, Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj. His research interests also include political analysis, visual culture, gender and cultural studies. He taught a course on the Romanian New Wave filmmakers at Bard College (2012) and other courses at European universities such as ELTE (Hungary), Hochschule Mittweida (Germany), Tampere University (Finland), Milano-Bicocca (Italy). He published several books of film studies, visual philosophy, political analysis, a novel and a children book. His latest publication is Romanian new wave cinema: An introduction, McFarland, 2014.
