Marius Conkan

Marius Conkan is a lecturer at the Department of Comparative Literature, Faculty of Letters, Babeș-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, where he teaches geocriticism and fantasy literature. He is also a poet, an essayist and a literary critic. As a researcher, he was member of two projects focused on the analysis of space in literature: Antiutopias: Making and Unmaking the Reality and Geographies of Transition in Post-Communist Romanian Literature. In 2017 he published his first book on literary theory, The Portal and the Secondary Worlds. Spatial Typologies in Fantasy Literature [Portalul și lumile secundare. Tipologii ale spațiului în literatura fantasy], followed by the volume Building Secondary Worlds in Portal-Quest Fantasy Fiction, published in 2020 by Interdisciplinary Discourses (London).
